Argentina 7-0 Burkina Faso: Historic Rout in Buenos Aires Friendly | Report

Argentina produced a dominant and historic 7-0 victory over Burkina Faso in an international friendly at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires. According to Arena Live, the match was overshadowed by the visitors' logistical chaos, as Burkina Faso fielded their U23 side after their senior team refused to travel due to flight coordination and financial issues.

Key Moments:

3' - Lautaro Martínez: Argentina took an early lead, though Lautaro missed a penalty in the 4th minute before scoring the opener.
8' - Moumouni Diallo (Own Goal): Burkina Faso's troubles deepened with an own goal.
12' - Gianluca Prestianni: The young forward made it 3-0 with a composed finish.
35' - Nico Paz: Argentina added a fourth before half-time.
36' - Julián Álvarez: Just a minute later, Álvarez made it 5-0.
57' - Franco Mastantuono: The substitute added a sixth after the break.

A Match Shrouded in Controversy: Burkina Faso's senior team refused to travel, forcing their U23 side to make an 11-hour flight from Casablanca just six hours before kick-off. The visitors managed only 25% possession and a single shot on target. Argentina, meanwhile, controlled the game with 75% possession and 20 shots, generating a dominant expected goals tally.

Scaloni's Experiment: Lionel Scaloni used the match to give minutes to his entire bench, including debutants Matías Soulé, Tomás Palacios, and Santiago Castro. The win sets Argentina up for Lionel Messi's farewell match against Benin on Tuesday at the Monumental.
