Netherlands 2-1 Serbia: Koopmeiners and Zirkzee Seal Unbeaten Run | Nations League Report

The Netherlands ended their international break with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Serbia at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven. According to Arena Live, goals from Teun Koopmeiners and Joshua Zirkzee ensured Xavi Hernández's unbeaten start as Dutch coach extended to four matches.

Key Moments:

31' - Teun Koopmeiners: The midfielder, making his first appearance of the international window, fired home a powerful free-kick that sailed past Vanja Milinković-Savić to give the Netherlands the lead.
53' - Mihailo Cvetković: Serbia equalised early in the second half. The Anderlecht striker rose above his marker to head home Aleksa Terzić's cross past Bart Verbruggen for his first international goal.
73' - Joshua Zirkzee: The Netherlands regained the lead through a beautifully worked team goal. Denzel Dumfries' low cross found Tijjani Reijnders, who laid it off for Zirkzee to tap home his first international goal in two years.
90' - Late Drama: The Netherlands were forced to see out the game with 10 men after Micky van de Ven picked up a late injury, but they held on for the win.

Netherlands' Resilience: Xavi's side showed character to bounce back after Cvetković's equaliser. Koopmeiners, despite struggling defensively as a makeshift centre-back, made amends with a stunning free-kick. Verbruggen produced crucial saves to deny Lazar Samardžić and Cvetković, while Zirkzee's composed finish proved decisive.

Serbia's Winless Streak Continues: Serbia remain rooted to the bottom of Group A2 without a single point. Despite Cvetković's goal and a spirited second-half display, they couldn't find an equaliser. The pressure continues to mount on their coaching staff.

Group A2 Standings: The victory sends the Netherlands top of Group A2. Greece, who drew 0-0 with Germany earlier, sit second, while Germany are third. Serbia remain bottom with zero points.
